The SPICA mechanical fuel injection system relies on a precise mechanical linkage connecting the throttle pedal to the injection pump's internal control rack. If these linkages are worn, loose, or improperly synchronized, the pump may fail to advance the fuel delivery volume in response to throttle input. This misalignment prevents the engine from transitioning from a cold start to a stable idle or achieving higher RPMs, as the pump remains stuck in a lean or incorrect delivery state regardless of fuel pressure integrity.
