Front Suspension Noise Due to Worn Ball Joints

Inspect the ball joints for signs of torn rubber boots or leaking grease. Use the '12 and 6' wheel shake test; grasp the tire at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and rock it vertically. If there is noticeable 'clunking' or vertical play, the ball joint housing or internal socket has exceeded its service life.
