Circular Saw Splintering Due to Low Tooth Count Blade

Using a blade with too few teeth is the most common cause of rough edges and splintering. To confirm this, inspect the blade currently mounted to the saw. Count the number of teeth on the blade circumference. A standard framing or construction blade typically contains only 18 to 24 teeth, which are spaced too far apart for fine finish work. To verify this is the cause, ensure the blade lacks the 40 to 60+ teeth required for a shearing action on wood surfaces.
