Smartphone Lag Due to Thermal Throttling

Check for thermal throttling by physically inspecting the device temperature; if the chassis feels excessively hot to the touch during use, the internal processor may be intentionally reducing its clock speed to prevent hardware failure. Monitor the device performance immediately after it has cooled down to determine if the lag is heat-related.
