Nextcloud Stuck in Maintenance Mode Due to Restricted Hosting Environment

This diagnostic state occurs when a Nextcloud instance remains locked in maintenance mode because the administrator lacks direct command-line interface (CLI) access to execute the standard occ maintenance:mode --off command. In shared hosting, managed panels, or restricted virtual environments, the absence of SSH access prevents the system from automatically clearing the maintenance flag if an update process hangs or if the flag was triggered manually. Because the Nextcloud web interface does not provide a native toggle to disable maintenance mode, the system remains in a persistent locked state, requiring manual intervention at the file-system level to restore access.
