If the bulb and socket are confirmed functional, the main control board may be at fault. Inspect the board for signs of burnt components or failed triacs or relays. Use a multimeter to test for voltage output at the light socket terminals while the microwave is commanded to turn the light on; a lack of voltage despite a working bulb indicates a control board failure.
