Frequent urination is characterized by the need to urinate more than six to seven times per day. To verify this symptom, maintain a bladder diary for 48 to 72 hours, recording the time, volume (if possible), and urgency level of each void. A clear distinction should be made between true frequency (large volumes) and the 'false alarm' phenomenon, where there is an urgent sensation but only a minimal volume is produced.
