Tesla BMS_a074 Maximum Battery Charge Level Reduced

The BMS_a074 alert indicates that the vehicle has detected an internal condition within the high voltage battery that is limiting its performance. This condition specifically results in a reduction of the vehicle's maximum charge level and overall driving range.

While the vehicle remains safe to drive, charging behavior is altered: the vehicle is able to charge only when the state of charge is below 50%. If the state of charge is already at or above 50%, charging will not initiate. It is recommended to schedule service at your earliest convenience to restore full battery performance, as failure to do so may lead to further reductions in range and charge capacity.
