Tesla CP_a054 Charge Port Latch Not Engaged

The CP_a054 alert indicates that the charge port latch is unable to secure the charge cable within the charge port inlet. When this condition occurs, AC charging is limited to 16A, and DC Fast Charging or Supercharging becomes unavailable.

Indicators:

• The charge port light pulses amber during AC charging.
• The charge port light remains solid amber when attempting DC Fast Charging or Supercharging.

Potential Causes:

• The charge cable is not fully inserted into the charge port inlet.
• Obstructions within the charge port inlet or on the charge cable connector, such as debris, moisture, or foreign objects.
• The charge port latch manual release cable (located in the trunk) has been pulled or is obstructed.
