Spaghetti failures can occur when a print experiences significant thermal warping during the build process. As the model cools unevenly, corners or edges may lift off the build plate, creating a physical obstruction that rises above the current layer height. When the print head travels over these lifted sections, the nozzle strikes the hardened plastic, which can dislodge the entire model from the build plate. Once the model is detached, the printer continues to extrude filament into the air, resulting in a spaghetti pile.
This issue is distinct from initial bed adhesion failure, as the print may have successfully completed several layers before the thermal stress caused the warping to occur. To diagnose this, inspect the failed print for signs of curled edges or impact marks on the model's surface.
