To check if low tire pressure is causing the TPMS light to illuminate, you will need a reliable tire pressure gauge. Ensure the tires are cold, meaning the vehicle has not been driven for at least three hours or more than a mile. Locate the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle, usually found on a sticker inside the driver's side door jamb or in the owner's manual. Remove the valve cap from each tire and firmly press the tire pressure gauge onto the valve stem. Read the pressure displayed on the gauge and compare it to the recommended specification.
