To confirm the foot controller is the source of the failure, visually inspect the pedal casing for cracks or loose wiring terminals. Open the pedal housing and verify that the contact points are not heavily oxidized or stuck in the 'open' position. Use a multimeter to test for voltage continuity between the pedal's internal contacts when the pedal is fully depressed. If there is no electrical path established upon depression, the internal carbon stack or contact spring in the foot controller has failed to complete the circuit required to drive the motor.
