Check for excessive rotational resistance by removing the platter and attempting to turn the center spindle by hand. If the spindle is difficult to rotate or feels gummy, the original factory lubricant has hardened due to age and inactivity, creating a mechanical drag that prevents the motor from achieving operational speed.
