To resolve BMS_a068 alerts caused by a failing 12V auxiliary battery, follow these steps:
- Safety Precaution: Before beginning, ensure the vehicle is in Park and power down the vehicle via the touchscreen (Safety & Security > Power Off). Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Access: Remove the frunk apron/trim to access the 12V battery compartment.
- Disconnect: Always disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal to prevent short circuits.
- Removal: Unfasten the battery hold-down bracket and remove the old battery.
- Installation: Install the new, OEM-specified 12V battery. Secure the hold-down bracket.
- Reconnect: Connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal.
- Verification: Power on the vehicle and ensure the BMS_a068 alert has cleared from the instrument cluster. Perform a test drive to confirm stability.
Tools Needed: 10mm socket wrench, insulated gloves, safety glasses, and an OEM-compatible 12V replacement battery.
