Replace Front Wheel Bearings

Tools Needed: Front axle wrench, bearing puller, new wheel bearings, dead blow hammer, bearing driver set.

  1. Lift the front of the bike until the wheel is off the ground and remove the front wheel.
  2. Remove the dust seals and use a bearing puller to extract the old bearings from the hub.
  3. Clean the bearing seat thoroughly with a rag.
  4. Press the new bearings into the hub using a driver that contacts only the outer race.
  5. Reinstall the dust seals and remount the wheel per factory torque specifications.
  6. Verify the fix by spinning the wheel; it should rotate silently and without lateral play.
