Replace the Damaged Microphone Cable or Unit

Since the internal conductors have suffered a mechanical failure, the cable must be replaced to restore signal integrity.

1. Safety Precaution: Disconnect the microphone from the computer to prevent any potential electrical shorts during the replacement process.
2. Obtain Replacement: If the microphone features a detachable cable (e.g., a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm or XLR cable), purchase an identical replacement cable that matches the original specifications. If the cable is hard-wired into the microphone, you must replace the entire microphone unit.
3. Installation: Connect the new cable to both the microphone and the computer's rear audio input port. If replacing the entire unit, plug the new device into the rear motherboard port.
4. Verification: Open your system's sound settings and monitor the input levels. Gently move and shake the new cable to ensure the static and popping noises have been fully eliminated.
