Since the WH-1000XM3 hardware does not support simultaneous multipoint media streaming, use this manual configuration to split call and media duties between two devices.
- Pair both source devices with your WH-1000XM3 headphones.
- Ensure any voice assistants (Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa) are disabled on both devices to prevent connection conflicts.
- Connect the first device (e.g., your smartphone) to the headphones.
- Access the Bluetooth settings on the smartphone, select the WH-1000XM3, and uncheck 'Media audio' so that only 'Call audio' remains enabled.
- Disconnect the headphones from the first device.
- Connect the second device (e.g., your laptop) to the headphones and ensure it is configured to use the headphones for 'Media audio' only.
- Reconnect the first device. The headphones will now prioritize the laptop for media and the smartphone for incoming calls.
