Replace Stretched Timing Chain and Associated Hardware

1. Secure the vehicle on a lift or jack stands and remove the accessory drive belt and timing cover. 2. Inspect the chain for elongation against a new chain and check the guides for grooves or plastic wear. 3. Remove the stretched timing chain along with the worn guides and hydraulic tensioner. 4. Install the new chain, ensuring it is correctly seated on the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets. 5. Install the new, hardened timing chain guides and the new hydraulic tensioner. 6. Reinstall the timing cover, ensuring a leak-free seal. 7. Fill the engine with fresh, manufacturer-recommended oil and verify the timing correlation via an OBD-II scanner while the engine is idling at operating temperature.
