Tools and Materials Needed:
- Automotive-grade glass cleaner
- Clean, lint-free microfiber cloth
Safety Precautions:
- Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe location with the ignition off before cleaning.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Locate the camera housing behind the rearview mirror on the interior of the windshield.
- Identify the corresponding area on the exterior of the windshield.
- Spray a small amount of automotive-grade glass cleaner onto the microfiber cloth (do not spray directly onto the windshield).
- Gently wipe the exterior glass surface directly in front of the camera housing to remove all dirt, mud, road salt, dried insect residue, or wiper streaks.
- Use a dry section of the microfiber cloth to buff the area until the glass is streak-free and clear.
Verification:
Once the glass is clean, the APP_w222 alert should clear automatically while driving as the system regains a clear line of sight. If the alert persists after ensuring the glass is pristine, confirm the vehicle is not in a low-visibility environmental condition (such as heavy fog or intense glare).
