Perform Emergency Surgical Repair of the Tunica Albuginea

This is a time-sensitive medical emergency that must be performed by a qualified urological surgeon within 6 hours of the injury.

1. Seek immediate transport to the nearest Emergency Department.
2. Do not apply ice or heat directly to the area, as this may mask symptoms or cause further tissue damage.
3. The surgeon will perform a clinical examination, often followed by imaging such as ultrasound or MRI, to confirm the location and extent of the rupture.
4. Under general or regional anesthesia, the surgeon will make an incision to evacuate the hematoma and expose the tunica albuginea.
5. The surgeon will perform a formal surgical repair (suture) to close the tear in the tunica albuginea to restore structural integrity.
6. Post-operative recovery will be monitored by the surgical team to ensure the restoration of erectile function and the prevention of long-term complications such as penile curvature or fibrosis.
