1. Use a heat gun on a low setting to soften the aged, brittle film, then carefully peel the material away from the glass surface in large sections. 2. Apply a specialized adhesive remover or a solution of warm water and mild dish soap to the glass to break down residual adhesive. 3. Use a plastic razor blade or scraper to remove all remaining residue, ensuring the glass is completely smooth and clean. 4. Measure the window dimensions and cut the new film to size, leaving a slight overlap for trimming. 5. Spray the glass surface and the adhesive side of the new film with a mounting solution. 6. Apply the film to the glass, use a squeegee to remove all air bubbles and excess moisture from the center outward, and trim any excess material along the edges. 7. Verify the fix by inspecting the film for uniform adhesion, clarity, and absence of air pockets or peeling edges.
