Clean and Reseat E-bike Controller Wiring Connections

Safety Precautions: Ensure the e-bike battery is removed and the system is completely powered down before beginning. Do not use conductive tools near exposed terminals.

Tools Needed: Contact cleaner (electrical grade), a soft-bristled brush, and a clean, dry microfiber cloth.

1. Locate the controller housing, typically found within the frame or mounted to the downtube.
2. Systematically unplug each connector one at a time to prevent mixing up the wiring layout.
3. Inspect the internal pins and sockets for signs of oxidation (green or white residue), bent pins, or debris.
4. Spray a small amount of electrical contact cleaner onto the connectors and use the soft-bristled brush to gently remove any corrosion or debris.
5. Use the microfiber cloth to wipe away excess cleaner and ensure all contacts are completely dry before proceeding.
6. Firmly plug each connector back into its corresponding port until you feel or hear a secure 'click,' ensuring the locking tabs are fully engaged.
7. Reinstall the battery and power on the display to verify that the system is fully functional and free of previous error codes.
