Replace the Stark Varg Water Pump

If the Stark Varg water pump has been confirmed to be defective, it may have to be replaced.

Remove and Install Water Pump- Stark VARG MX 1.2
  1. Unscrew the side plate bolts.

  2. Unscrew the subframe to seat base bolt under the rear fender.

  3. Unscrew the front 4 bolts on the side spoilers.

  4. Carefully remove the spoiler assembly by sliding it backwards.

  5. Remove the four skid plate screws.

  6. Carefully remove the skid plate from the battery.

  7. Place a container underneath the bike to collect the drained coolant.

  8. Loosen and remove the coolant drain bolt (remove and dispose of the copper washer).

  9. Loosen the radiator cap to allow the coolant to drain.

  10. Unscrew the four bolts that attach the rear fender to the subframe.

  11. Carefully remove the rear fender from the bike.

  12. Remove the bleeding hose clamp from the water pump.

  13. Unplug the water pump connector.

  14. Remove the water pump strap.

  15. Remove the water pump hose clamps and slide them back from their original position.

  16. Remove the hoses by pulling them backward (handle the clamps carefully as they have sharp edges).

  17. Carefully remove the water pump from the bike.

  18. Carefully place the new water pump into its position.

  19. Connect the water pump hoses by pushing them securely into position.

  20. Secure the water pump by positioning its rubber strap correctly.

  21. Connect the water pump.

  22. Secure the water pump hose clamps into their proper positions (ensure no cables are in contact with the clamps).

  23. Connect the radiator bleed hose to the water pump.

  24. Secure the radiator bleed hose clamp in its proper position.

  25. Carefully position the rear fender between the subframe and the rear wheel.

  26. Tighten the four bolts that attach the rear fender to the subframe to 5 Nm.

  27. Install a new copper washer in the coolant drain bolt, then tighten it to 5 Nm.

  28. Fill the cooling system to the top with glycol-based coolant.

  29. Switch the bike on and off as needed to allow the water pump to circulate the coolant and purge any air from the system.

  30. Tighten the radiator cap to 7 Nm.

  31. Place the skid plate into its position.

  32. Tighten the 4 skid plate bolts to 15 Nm.

  33. Position the spoiler assembly on top of the bike and slide it forward and downward.

  34. Tighten the 4 bolts to 5 Nm.

  35. Tighten the subframe to seat base bolt to 10 Nm.
