- Remove the top cover of the carburetor to access the idle jet assemblies.
- Unscrew the idle jet holders from the carburetor body using the appropriate screwdriver.
- Remove the jets from the holders and visually inspect the tiny pilot orifice for varnish or debris.
- Spray the jets thoroughly with carburetor cleaner and use compressed air to blow through the orifice, ensuring that all passages are completely clear of obstructions. Do not use wire or sharp metal objects to clean the orifice, as this will damage the precision sizing and ruin the jet.
- Reinstall the clean jets into their holders and secure them back into the carburetor body.
- Start the engine and verify that it maintains a steady idle. If the idle remains unstable, ensure the mixture screws are set to the manufacturer's baseline of 1.5 to 2 turns out from a gently seated position.
