Tools Required: Cleaning needle, appropriate hex key set, soft cloth or compressed air.
Safety Precautions: Ensure the printer is powered off and the hotend has cooled to room temperature before beginning disassembly.
- Remove the extruder front cover by unscrewing the mounting bolts on the toolhead.
- Carefully inspect the filament guide and drive gear area for trapped plastic fragments or debris; remove any identified particles using a pair of tweezers or compressed air.
- Perform a cold pull on the hotend to ensure no residual material is blocking the internal nozzle path.
- Use a cleaning needle to clear the nozzle tip of any remaining physical obstructions.
- Examine the internal extruder screws and tighten them to ensure the assembly is properly aligned and the idler arm maintains correct tension against the filament.
- Reattach the extruder front cover and secure all mounting bolts firmly.
- Verify the fix by navigating to the touchscreen menu (Control → Nozzle & Extruder) and manually extruding filament to confirm smooth, silent operation without clicking.
