Recharge or Replace the Motorcycle Battery

Safety Precautions: Wear safety glasses and gloves. Ensure the ignition is OFF and the motorcycle is in a well-ventilated area.

Tools Needed: Battery charger, socket wrench set, wire brush, terminal grease.

1. Access the battery compartment by removing the seat or side cover.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal first, then the positive (+) terminal.
3. Clean the terminals with a wire brush to remove oxidation.
4. Connect the charger leads to the battery (positive to positive, negative to negative) and charge until the indicator shows full.
5. If the battery fails to hold a charge, remove the old battery and install a new unit matching the original specifications.
6. Reconnect the positive cable followed by the negative cable.
7. Start the engine to verify the electrical system is functional.
