Tools Needed: Belt tension gauge, metric wrench set, torque wrench.
- Locate the rear axle adjusters on the swingarm.
- Loosen the rear axle nut and adjust the tension bolts until the belt deflection meets the 1.5–4 mm specification as defined in the service manual.
- Ensure the rear wheel is aligned by measuring the distance from the swingarm pivot to the axle center on both sides.
- Tighten the axle nut to the specified torque.
- Verify the fix by riding at the speed where the noise previously occurred; the squeak should be eliminated as the belt tracks correctly.
