1. Secure the motorcycle in an upright position. 2. Use a belt tension gauge to apply 10 lbf of force to the midpoint of the lower belt span. 3. Measure the belt deflection; it must fall within the manufacturer specification of 1.5–4mm. 4. If the deflection is outside this range, loosen the axle nut and adjust the swingarm adjuster nuts to increase or decrease tension as necessary. 5. Tighten the axle nut to the factory-specified torque. 6. Re-verify the tension with the gauge to ensure it remains within the 1.5–4mm range.
