Safety Precautions: Before starting, discharge the battery below 25% to minimize fire risk. Power off the device completely. Note that opening the iPhone 7 will compromise its water-resistant seal and may void your warranty.
- Remove the two 3.4 mm Pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge of the device.
- Apply gentle heat to the display perimeter to soften the adhesive, then use a suction cup and spudger to carefully open the display assembly.
- Disconnect the internal cables securing the display and battery, and remove the protective brackets.
- Carefully pull the adhesive strips holding the old battery in place; if they break, apply minimal, controlled heat to release the battery.
- Install the new battery using fresh adhesive strips, reconnect all internal cables and brackets, and press the display assembly back into the housing.
- Reinstall the two 3.4 mm Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device.
- Verification: Power on the device and navigate to Settings > Battery > Battery Health to confirm that the maximum capacity reading has reset or reflects the new battery's status.
