Execute a Command Line Interface (CLI) Upgrade

To resolve a stuck maintenance mode caused by an interrupted update, perform a full CLI upgrade to complete the pending database and application changes.

1. Access your server terminal.
2. Ensure the instance is in maintenance mode by running: sudo -u www-data php occ maintenance:mode --on
3. Execute the upgrade process to finalize pending database migrations: sudo -u www-data php occ upgrade
4. Update all installed applications to ensure compatibility: sudo -u www-data php occ app:update --all
5. Repair internal database structures and indices: sudo -u www-data php occ maintenance:repair and sudo -u www-data php occ db:add-missing-indices
6. Disable maintenance mode to restore access: sudo -u www-data php occ maintenance:mode --off

Verification: Refresh your web browser; the maintenance splash screen should be replaced by your standard Nextcloud login page.
