Replace and Secure the Automotive Battery

Tools Needed: Wrench set, wire brush, baking soda, water, safety goggles, and gloves.

1. Ensure the ignition is off and remove the negative (black) cable first, followed by the positive (red) cable.
2. Inspect terminals for corrosion; clean with a mixture of baking soda and water using a wire brush.
3. Remove the battery hold-down bracket and lift out the old battery.
4. Place the new battery in the tray and secure the hold-down bracket.
5. Connect the positive (red) cable first, then the negative (black) cable, ensuring both are tightened to prevent movement.
6. Verify the fix by attempting to start the vehicle; the engine should crank and start immediately.
