- Ensure the ignition is off and remove the negative (black) cable first, followed by the positive (red) cable.
- Inspect terminals for corrosion; clean with a mixture of baking soda and water using a wire brush.
- Remove the battery hold-down bracket and lift out the old battery.
- Place the new battery in the tray and secure the hold-down bracket.
- Connect the positive (red) cable first, then the negative (black) cable, ensuring both are tightened to prevent movement.
- Verify the fix by attempting to start the vehicle; the engine should crank and start immediately.
