Spaghetti failures can occur when the printer's hotend experiences heat creep, a condition where heat travels up the filament path into the cold-end of the extruder. This is frequently caused by printing materials with low glass transition temperatures, such as PLA, while the printer enclosure is fully sealed or the ambient chamber temperature is too high.
When heat creep occurs, the filament softens prematurely, leading to inconsistent extrusion, partial nozzle clogs, or complete flow failure. As the printer continues to move without depositing the intended material, the print detaches from the build plate, resulting in the characteristic tangled mass identified by the AI system as a spaghetti failure.
