Motorcycle Drive Shaft Producing Noise

To verify that the noise is originating from the drive shaft system, place the motorcycle on a center stand so the rear wheel can rotate freely. Shift the transmission into neutral and rotate the rear wheel by hand to listen for grinding, clicking, or binding noises originating from the final drive housing or the swingarm tunnel.
