This is the most common cause for shifting failure. Confirm this by checking if the system has 'forgotten' the gear end-positions. Attempt to verify the issue by performing the manual auto-calibration sequence: switch the bike off, hold the '+' and '-' buttons on the shifter simultaneously, and switch the bike on. If the motor does not engage to cycle through the gears or if the process terminates with a failure code, the system has lost its programmed gear limits.
