Clean the Filter Assembly and Food Chopper

Safety Warning: Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker or unplug the dishwasher before beginning this procedure.

  1. Remove the bottom rack of the dishwasher to gain full access to the tub floor.
  2. Use a cup or towel to bail out any standing water from the bottom of the tub.
  3. Locate the filter assembly, typically secured by T15 Torx screws. Use a T15 screwdriver to remove the screws and lift the filter assembly out of the unit.
  4. Separate the components of the filter assembly and wash them under warm, running water to remove grease and food residue. Use a soft brush to scrub the mesh screen thoroughly.
  5. Inspect the food chopper area (located beneath the filter) for any debris, such as glass, plastic shards, or bone fragments. Use needle-nose pliers to carefully remove any foreign objects found.
  6. Reassemble the filter components, place the assembly back into the sump, and secure it with the T15 screws.
  7. Restore power and run a short rinse cycle to verify that water drains properly from the tub.
