Replace the Motorcycle Battery

Tools Needed: Socket set, screwdriver, battery charger, new battery of the correct specification. Safety: Wear safety glasses and gloves; disconnect the negative terminal first.

1. Turn off the ignition and remove the seat to access the battery.
2. Disconnect the negative (black) terminal, then the positive (red) terminal.
3. Remove any mounting straps or brackets.
4. Lift out the old battery.
5. Insert the new battery and secure it with the brackets.
6. Connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal.
7. Apply a light coat of dielectric grease to terminals to prevent corrosion.
8. Verify by turning the key to 'ON' and checking that dash lights are bright and the engine turns over.
