- Secure the vehicle on jack stands and remove the rear subframe assembly to access the mounting points.
- Clean the affected chassis area of paint and debris to expose bare metal.
- Position the reinforcement plates over the cracked or torn sheet metal.
- Weld the reinforcement plates securely to the chassis, ensuring full structural penetration.
- Apply rust-preventative paint to the repaired area.
- Reinstall the subframe and torque all mounting bolts to factory specifications.
Verification: Perform a test drive on a bumpy surface to ensure the clunking noise is no longer present.
