Perform a Forced Battery Pack Wake-Up and Calibration

Safety Precautions: Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, the high-voltage disconnect is accessible, and you are wearing appropriate Class 0 high-voltage insulating gloves.

Tools Required: Tesla Toolbox 3 software, high-voltage diagnostic cable, and a DC fast charger.

  1. Connect the Tesla Toolbox 3 to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
  2. Navigate to the 'Battery Management' module and select 'Force Wake-Up' to attempt to reset the contactors.
  3. Once the contactors close, initiate a 'Low-Current Charging' session via the service interface to slowly bring the cell voltages back into a balanced state.
  4. Monitor the individual brick voltages in real-time until all modules reach a nominal, balanced state of charge.
  5. Clear the BMS_a079 alert codes and perform a full power cycle of the vehicle.

Verification: Verify the fix by charging the vehicle to 100% on a standard AC charger to ensure the BMS successfully re-calibrates the state-of-charge (SOC) estimation.
