Clean and Prepare the Build Plate Surface

To resolve poor bed adhesion, perform a deep cleaning of the build plate to remove oils, dust, and residue that prevent the first layer from anchoring correctly.

Tools Needed

  • Mild dish soap (degreasing type)
  • Warm water
  • Clean, lint-free microfiber cloth
  • Isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher)

Steps

  1. Remove the build plate from the printer and rinse it under warm water.
  2. Apply a small amount of mild dish soap and scrub the entire surface thoroughly using a clean sponge or cloth.
  3. Rinse the plate completely to ensure no soap residue remains.
  4. Dry the plate using a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth.
  5. Once dry, perform a final wipe-down with isopropyl alcohol to ensure the surface is fully degreased.
  6. Reinstall the plate and ensure it is properly seated before starting your next print.

Verification

Verify the fix by performing a standard first-layer test print. The filament should bond firmly to the surface without lifting at the corners or edges during the first several layers.
