Tighten the Rohloff Sprocket Lock-Ring

To resolve the noise caused by a loose sprocket, follow these steps to secure the lock-ring interface:

1. Ensure the bicycle is securely mounted in a work stand to allow free rotation of the rear wheel.
2. Remove the rear wheel from the bicycle frame if necessary to gain clear access to the sprocket and lock-ring.
3. Use a calibrated torque wrench equipped with the appropriate spline tool for the Rohloff lock-ring.
4. Tighten the lock-ring to exactly 30 Nm. Do not apply thread-locking agents, as these can interfere with future maintenance.
5. Verify the repair by attempting to shift the sprocket laterally on the splined carrier; it should now be completely immobilized.
6. Reinstall the wheel and perform a test ride under load to confirm that the metallic rattling or clicking noise has been eliminated.
