Tools Needed: Calibrated manual tire pressure gauge, air compressor or tire inflator.
Steps:
- Locate the tire information placard on the driver-side door pillar to identify the manufacturer-recommended PSI for your vehicle.
- Remove the valve stem cap from the first tire.
- Press the manual tire pressure gauge firmly onto the valve stem to obtain a reading.
- If the pressure is below the placard value, use an air compressor to add air until the gauge matches the recommended PSI. If the pressure is too high, press the center pin of the valve stem to release air until the correct pressure is reached.
- Repeat these steps for all four tires.
- Replace all valve stem caps securely.
Verification: Drive the vehicle for several minutes at speeds above 25 km/h (15 mph). The TPMS warning light should automatically clear from the touchscreen once the system detects the corrected pressure levels.
