Repair the Facility Grounding System

Safety Warning: This procedure involves high-voltage electrical systems. It must be performed exclusively by a qualified, licensed electrician. Do not attempt this if you are not qualified.

  1. De-energize: Turn off the circuit breaker supplying power to the Tesla Wall Connector. Verify zero voltage at the terminal block using a calibrated multimeter.
  2. Inspect Ground Connection: Open the Wall Connector housing and inspect the ground terminal for loose, corroded, or damaged wiring. Ensure the wire is properly seated and tightened to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
  3. Verify Facility Ground: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage potential between L1 and Ground, and L2/N and Ground. If these readings indicate a lack of continuity or significant deviation from the true earth reference, the building's grounding system must be repaired or upgraded by an electrician to meet local electrical code requirements.
  4. Check DIP Switches: Confirm that the internal grounding scheme DIP switches are configured correctly according to the installation type specified in the Tesla Wall Connector Installation Manual.
  5. Reassemble and Test: Secure the housing, restore power at the circuit breaker, and observe the Wall Connector status lights. Attempt to charge the vehicle to verify the CC_a001 error is resolved.
