Safety Warning: This procedure involves high-voltage electrical systems. It must be performed exclusively by a qualified, licensed electrician. Do not attempt this if you are not qualified.
- De-energize: Turn off the circuit breaker supplying power to the Tesla Wall Connector. Verify zero voltage at the terminal block using a calibrated multimeter.
- Inspect Ground Connection: Open the Wall Connector housing and inspect the ground terminal for loose, corroded, or damaged wiring. Ensure the wire is properly seated and tightened to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
- Verify Facility Ground: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage potential between L1 and Ground, and L2/N and Ground. If these readings indicate a lack of continuity or significant deviation from the true earth reference, the building's grounding system must be repaired or upgraded by an electrician to meet local electrical code requirements.
- Check DIP Switches: Confirm that the internal grounding scheme DIP switches are configured correctly according to the installation type specified in the Tesla Wall Connector Installation Manual.
- Reassemble and Test: Secure the housing, restore power at the circuit breaker, and observe the Wall Connector status lights. Attempt to charge the vehicle to verify the CC_a001 error is resolved.
