Clear or Replace the Flashforge Nozzle

Tools Needed: Flashforge-provided nozzle pin tool, needle-nose pliers, and a replacement nozzle if necessary.

Safety Precautions: Wear heat-resistant gloves as the nozzle will be heated to operating temperatures. Do not touch the heating block or nozzle directly.

  1. Preheat the nozzle to the standard printing temperature for the filament currently loaded in the extruder.
  2. Attempt to clear the obstruction by inserting the provided pin tool into the nozzle tip while the extruder is heated, gently clearing any carbonized debris.
  3. If the obstruction persists, perform a 'cold pull': allow the nozzle to cool to approximately 90°C (for PLA), then manually retract the filament with steady pressure to pull out internal debris.
  4. If the nozzle remains clogged, turn off the printer, allow it to cool completely, and unscrew the obstructed nozzle using the appropriate wrench.
  5. Install a new, clean nozzle and tighten it securely while the hotend is at operating temperature to ensure a proper seal.
  6. Verify the fix by navigating to the printer's control menu and selecting the 'Load Filament' function; confirm that filament extrudes in a smooth, consistent, and straight stream.
