If the compressor motor is failing to start, the issue may be with the start relay or capacitor rather than the compressor itself. Follow these steps:
Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet to ensure safety.
Locate the compressor at the back or bottom of the refrigerator.
Remove the protective cover panel attached to the side of the compressor.
Carefully pull the start relay and capacitor assembly off the compressor terminals.
Disconnect the wires from the old relay and capacitor, noting their positions.
Connect the wires to the new start relay and capacitor, then press the assembly firmly onto the compressor terminals.
Reattach the protective cover and plug the refrigerator back in to test if the compressor engages and cooling resumes.
