Replace the Faulty CV Axle Assembly

Safety Warning: Before beginning, ensure the vehicle is safely supported on jack stands. Due to the potential involvement of high-voltage components near the drivetrain, consult your vehicle's service manual to identify and avoid restricted areas, or have a certified technician perform the repair if you are not experienced with EV drivetrain maintenance.

Tools Needed: Socket set, torque wrench, pry bar, CV axle puller, replacement CV axle assembly, and high-temperature CV joint grease.

1. Lift the vehicle and remove the wheel assembly to gain access to the axle.
2. Remove the axle nut and disconnect the lower control arm or steering knuckle to allow enough clearance to pull the axle from the hub.
3. Carefully remove the old CV axle from the gearbox/drive unit, using a pry bar if necessary, while being careful not to damage the gearbox seal.
4. Compare the new axle with the old one to ensure the length and spline count are identical.
5. Install the new CV axle into the drive unit, ensuring the retaining clip clicks securely into place to prevent fluid leaks.
6. Reattach the steering knuckle and control arm, torquing all fasteners to the manufacturer's specified values.
7. Reinstall the axle nut and tighten it to the exact factory torque specification.
8. Replace the wheel, lower the vehicle, and perform a test drive at various acceleration levels to confirm the vibration has been eliminated.
