Correct Branch Circuit Wiring for Tesla Wall Connector

Safety Warning: This procedure involves high-voltage electrical systems. Only a qualified, licensed electrician should perform this work. Ensure the power is completely disconnected at the main circuit breaker before opening the unit.

  1. Turn off the dedicated circuit breaker supplying power to the Wall Connector.
  2. Remove the faceplate and wiring cover of the Wall Connector to expose the terminal block.
  3. Inspect the branch circuit wiring to ensure the earth ground conductor is properly landed to the designated ground terminal and is not making contact with L1 or L2 terminals.
  4. Using a multimeter, verify there is no electrical continuity between the ground wire and either of the conductor wires (L1 or L2).
  5. If an incorrect connection is found, disconnect the wires, re-strip the conductor ends if necessary, and re-terminate them to the correct terminals per the installation manual.
  6. Reinstall the wiring cover and faceplate.
  7. Restore power at the circuit breaker and observe the Wall Connector status light to confirm it is no longer displaying the single red blink fault code.
