Refrigerator Leaking Due to Clogged Defrost Drain

To confirm a clogged defrost drain, check the back wall of the freezer compartment for ice buildup or standing water. If the drain hole located at the bottom of the cooling coils is blocked by debris or ice, water will overflow into the refrigerator cabinet and leak onto the floor.
