Mechanical resistance occurs when the filament path is obstructed or the extruder drive system fails to grip the filament. Confirm this by checking the spool holder for smooth rotation, inspecting the PTFE Bowden tube for kinks, burns, or debris, and ensuring the extruder gear is free of plastic shavings or wear that prevents it from firmly biting into the filament.
