To verify if the internal electromagnetic coil has failed, disconnect the relay from the control circuit and power source. Measure the resistance across the two coil pins using a multimeter. An 'Open Loop' (OL) or infinite resistance reading indicates that the internal coil wire is broken, rendering the relay incapable of creating the magnetic force required to move the switch contacts.
