To verify the extent of the limitation, attempt to bring the heel toward the buttock. A healthy knee should reach 135-155 degrees. If you cannot bend the knee beyond 30-40 degrees, or if you experience a physical sensation of being 'locked' or 'caught,' the restriction is clinically significant. Distinguish between a true mechanical block and pseudo-locking caused by pain or muscle guarding.
